HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Final round of the 2021 Sony Open wrapped up at Waialae Country on Sunday, with Kevin Na getting a come from behind victory.
Na was three shots behind with six holes to play, but the seasoned veteran rose to the occasion, Na would birdie three straight holes and finished with an up and down birdie from behind the 18th green to finish Sunday 5-under 65 strokes and a one-shot difference to take home the hardware.
This marks Na’s fifth victory in his PGA Tour career, finishing one shot ahead of Chris Kirk and Joaquin Niemann, who has gone back-to-back runner-ups in the islands, after getting second place last week at the Sentry Tournament of Champions on Maui.
With the win, Na goes home with the trophy and a one million-dollar check, as well as an invitation back to Hawaii next year for the Tournament of Champions and the Sony Open.
The PGA Tour moves on to California next week for the American Express Desert Classic.
