HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Punahele Soriano went into Saturday’s fight undefeated and the Kahuku native will leave fight island the same way, after a dominant first-round victory over Dusko Todorovic.
Soriano handed Todorovic his first loss in the UFC via TKO with 12 seconds left in the first round.
The former Kahuku Red Raider was dominant from the start, throwing a flurry of haymakers, dropping Todorovic three times — showing that he did not need all three rounds.
Soriano becomes the first local fighter to win on fight island, breaking a five-fight losing streak for the 808.
Soriano versus Todorovic was the opening main card fight ahead of the main event pitting Waianae’s Max Holloway against Calvin Kattar on ABC.
