Police arrest suspect accused of making ‘explosive devices’ in store; 2nd man sought

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police have arrested one of two suspects accused of making “explosive devices” inside a Moiliili drug store, forcing the building to evacuate.

The second man remains at large.

Authorities said the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Longs Drugs on King Street.

A bomb squad responded and found that something had caused a chemical reaction. They eventually neutralized the situation and gave an all-clear.

A reckless endangerment case has been opened and police have released surveillance images of the suspects. They are asking anyone who recognizes them to call police.
