HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - There will soon be a new way to adopt a pet on Oahu.

The Hawaiian Humane Society is preparing to launch their new mobile adoption center which will bring animals in need of home out to the community.

The van will hit the road Thursday after a traditional Hawaiian blessing.

“We are incredibly grateful to David Sandler whose generosity enabled the purchase of this vehicle. You’ll soon see our mobile adoption team and available pets in communities all across Oʻahu. I also want to extend a big mahalo to Matson, Inc. who donated their shipment services and transported the van across the pacific,” says Anna Neubauer, President & CEO of Hawaiian Humane Society.

The van will also double as mobile spay and neuter clinic.

It’s just one of the new expansions planned for the Humane Society in 2021 that will help expand services and capacity for the organization.
