HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - An Oahu man accused in a murder last July has been deemed mentally fit to stand trial.
A judge made the ruling that 35-year-old Dustin Saluda was fit for the proceedings after he was medically evaluated.
Saluda reportedly had a history of mental illness before he allegedly stabbed his fiance Mary Guo in a Makiki apartment in July 2020.
After a 2013 arson incident, Saluda was deemed insane and spent time at the State Hospital in Kaneohe and other mental health facilities.
Saluda’s bail has been reinstated to $1 million. A new trial is set for the week of March 15.
