KAHUKU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are investigating a crash that critically injured a skateboarder in Kahuku on Monday night.
Police said around 6:35 p.m., a 37-year-old woman was riding a skateboard down Huehu Street and missed the stop sign at Leleuli Street.
A van then struck the woman at the intersection, police said.
The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but the 42-year-old driver of the van and his 10-year-old son were not injured.
It does not appear that speed, drugs and alcohol are factors for the driver of the van, but police are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol are factors for the skateboarder.
