HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - A flash flood warning for Kauai has been extended through 4:45 p.m. as heavy rains drench parts of the island, including the windward side.
The National Weather Service said the heaviest rains are occurring upstream of Hanalei. The Hanalei Bridge has been closed, Kauai officials said.
A river gauge recorded a peak height of 10.6 feet around 9 a.m. Wednesday.
