HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - A flood advisory that had been in effect for Windward Oahu has been canceled as of 1:40 ;.m.
The National Weather Service in Honolulu said radar showed that the heavy rains during the early afternoon had diminished.
At its peak, heavy rain was falling at a rate of up to two inches per hour, with some of the heaviest downpours near Laie and Ahuimanu.
The rain gauge at Punaluu Stream recorded 1.16 inches of rainfall between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday. The nearby Luluku gauge picked up 1.05 inches during the same period, while Ahuimanu Loop recorded 0.72 of an inch.
