HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The City and County of Honolulu has launched a new online tool to help cyclists register their bicycles.

The website aims to give cyclists a resource to easily navigate the registration process.

On the site, they’ll find the fees for registration of pedal bikes and electric bikes.

The new site comes as the city celebrates 3.5 miles of protected bike lanes and registrations of more than 18,000 bikes annually.

State law requires cyclists to register all bikes with a wheel diameter of at least 20 inches. Police use the registrations to help recover and return stolen bikes to their owners.
