KAPALUA, Maui (HawaiiNewsNow) - Maui firefighters are continuing their battle against a fast-moving brush fire near Kapalua Airport.
The fire began just before 11 a.m. Wednesday. The flames forced water treatment plant employees to evacuate.
No other buildings are threatened at this time.
So far, MFD said at least 450 acres have burned. By 8 p.m., fire officials say the fire was 50% contained, and crews will be working into the night to extinguish it.
