4 displaced after flames tear through an Anahola home

ANAHOLA, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kauai firefighters raced to a blaze in Anahola on Kauai’s east side Monday night as flames tore through a single-story home.

Kauai officials released details on the fire Tuesday. They say flames ignited around 7 p.m. at the home on Anahola Road.

Personnel from multiple fire stations responded. They arrived to the home fully engulfed in flames.

Video showed large flames burning through the home as neighbors looked on. Anahola Road was closed for about two hours as a result of the fire.

Officials say everyone was able to escape the burning building uninjured. The American Red Cross is aiding the four people who were displaced.

Damage was estimated at $200,000. The cause is still under investigation.
