HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The state has ordered two illegal adult care homes on Oahu to close down.

That’s after an unannounced visit to each home ― one in Makiki and the other in Kaimuki.

The state says both are operated by Kolea Senior Management Services.

They’ve been ordered to pay a $10,000, and must also move their residents to licensed care homes within seven days. Under state law, the owners may request a hearing to contest the notice.

The state said at least two other illegal adult care homes on Oahu have been shut down this year as part of a push to crack down on unlicensed operators.
