HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Big Island fire officials are investigating an arson at a vacation rental property in Volcano on Sunday.

Crews responded to the home on Pukeawe Circle around 8 p.m. and found furniture piled up and in flames.

Officials said “various clues” point to arson.

The fire caused $57,000 in damage, but crews were able to save about $170,000 worth of property.

No injuries were reported.
