HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Iolani Palace will reopen Wednesday after crews addressed a bee infestation.

Seven hives were found at the palace and grounds. One was moved to Waimanalo, while six were exterminated.

The palace was shut down on Thursday after several people were stung and one person was taken to a hospital.

Tests are being conducted to determine if the insects at the palace were “Africanized," which means they’re especially aggressive.

This story will be updated.
