2 escape boat fire off Lanai

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - According to the Maui Fire Department, two people were rescued from a fire aboard a boat off Lanai Tuesday morning.
The incident happened just after 10:15 a.m., about 2 miles offshore of Kaiolohia.
Fire crews fought the blaze for about 2 hours.
MFD says, the fire disabled the boat’s engine and battery.
No one was hurt in the incident.
The cause of the fire still under investigation.
