Back to School: DOE aims for 96% fill rate by 2020

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The first day of school is about a week away — the perfect time to talk about our teachers.

Hawaii has very qualified teachers in its public schools, but there’s more that can be done to recruit more and keep the ones that we have.

The DOE is working to do just that.

Cindy Covell, of the DOE, spoke with Steve to discuss some of the department’s strategies.
