Ohana Matters: Letting your keiki play during the summer

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Licensed family therapist Britt Young says free play is essential in helping children develop something called executive function, which becomes incredibly important when they eventually enter the work force.

It also helps them learn to solve problems and learn cognitive skills.

She says that parent’s shouldn’t be afraid to let them have some free time during the summer months.
