HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Team Hawaii made a statement Wednesday afternoon in the 2019 AAU Junior Olympics as the KIHA (Kapolei Inline Hockey Arenas) 12-under and 14-under squads won gold with wins over Team USA and Team New Zealand, respectively.
The 12-under KIHA Warriors took down Team USA 5-4 in overtime for a first place finish after trailing 4-2 for much of the contest.
A game-winning goal by Jackson Pang was the deciding factor in this contest with an assists from Jordan Nahoi-Baricar.
The 14-under team also had some success on the day, taking down New Zealand 5-0 to win gold. The team finished 6-0 in the tournament.
