OAHU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) -The medical examiner has identified a snorkeler who died Monday after an apparent drowning off Bellows Beach.
Emergency crews rushed to save 55-year-old Clyde Thompson around 3:30 p.m. The Hauula man was given CPR but could not be revived.
Officials say this was near the end of 480 Fire Road, an area not watched by lifeguards.
An autopsy is pending to determine the official cause of death.
