HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The suspect involved in an officer-involved shooting in Mountain View has been charged.
Authorities said 30-year-old Michael Soares was charged Sunday for first-degree criminal property damage, first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree reckless endangering.
Police said Soares refused orders to get out of what appeared to be a stolen SUV on Ihope Road on Saturday morning.
He then drove into a garage and reversed towards an ambulance, two firemen and a resident. One of the officers then fired a round through the windshield of the vehicle.
Authorities eventually took Soares into custody.
No one was hurt.
Soares’ bail has been set at $27,000. He is expected to appear in court on Monday afternoon.
