HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Ethan Lopez knew he wanted his collegiate baseball career to be in Hawai’i but he never anticipated the Aloha he would receive once he got here.
The Whittier, California native capped his senior season in Manoa as one of the best to play at the program. A fan favorite, his long black hair became a staple to look for out on the diamond until he cut it months ago.
The infielder played his senior season with a heavy heart after earlier in the year his father Fernando was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer. His parents both thankfully both made the trip to Manoa to support their son in his final home collegiate game and Lopez reflected on baseball and how his Ohana has continued to support each other against all odds.
