Man dies after being pulled from Waikiki waters

WAIKIKI, HAWAII (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man was found floating in Waikiki waters Saturday morning.
He was pulled and rushed to the hospital in critical condition, according to EMS. Police confirmed that the man later died.
Officials say the 74-year-old was found about 10 to 15 yards off shore from Kahanamoku Beach near the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
He was found around 9:30 a.m.
By Saturday afternoon, the office of the Medical Examiner identified him as Robert Ruiz of Tennessee.
EMS says advanced life saving efforts were initiated before he was rushed to the hospital. Police have classified it as an unattended death case.
His cause of death has not been determined.
