Hawaii program offers medical assistants-in-training free tuition

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Medical assistants are in high demand.

And a unique new partnership is offering free tuition to 26 students interested in getting a 12-month certificate in medical assisting from Kapiolani Community College.

The deadline to apply for the program is June 10, and it’s open to Hawaii residents only.

The program is made possible thanks to a partnership with the Queen’s Health Systems. Recipients get work experience at the Queen’s Medical Center while they’re attending school.

Prospective students must apply for the physician practice assistant intern position at Queen’s-Punchbowl (job number 123500). Queen’s will nominate candidates from the pool of applicants.
