HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The trade wind weather pattern will hold through this weekend.
Low clouds and trade showers will favor windward and mauka areas, while most leeward locations will remain relatively dry.
Trade winds are forecast to become breezy this weekend as a stronger high passes by to our north. The winds will likely become lighter starting early next week as a front approaches the area from the northwest.
The current south swell will continue to slowly fade, but a small reinforcement out of the southwest is possible late Thursday into Friday.
A slightly larger series of southwest and south swells are expected over the weekend and into early next week. These swells are expected to stay below advisory levels.
Small surf will continue along east and north facing shores through the work week.
Over the weekend, a small northwest swell is expected to give a boost to north shore surf, while an increase in trade wind swell brings an increase in surf to east-facing shores.
