Sharks named No. 5 seed in women’s NCAA DII Tournament

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii Pacific University women’s tennis team was named the No. m5 seed in the 2019 NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Championship in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

The Sharks (14-5) take on No. 12 St. Edward’s (18-5) in the round of 16 Wednesday at 2 a.m. HT.

The winner of the HPU/St. Ed’s contest faces the winner of the match between No. 4 Columbus State (24-4)/ No. 13 West Virginia State (19-5) in the quarterfinals.

The Sharks are in their 21st consecutive NCAA Division II Tournament, and now have advanced for their 13th appearance in the Sweet 16.
