MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two visitors were rescued from waters in Kaanapali, Maui Monday.

Around 2:20 p.m., MFD said a man and woman in their 30′s had to be saved after surf and strong currents prevented them from getting to shore.

Rescuers found the pair clinging to Black Rock.

“The pair found themselves stuck and were waving for help. The pair eventually entered the water and were able to be brought in by a lifeguard on the watercraft,” Maui Fire Officials said.

The couple suffered minor scrapes and cuts but refused medical treatment.
