HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection to a robbery at a Honolulu smoke shop.

Officers took Nathaniel Basque into custody on suspicion of robbing Hawaiian Holy Smokes Monday. He was arrested Tuesday night, a day after the alleged crime.

The robbery happened shortly after 11 a.m. Monday at the South King Street shop.

One employee said the suspect came into the store, demanded money and CBD products, and allegedly threatened that he had a gun, though police said no weapons were seen.

The store employee said the suspect got away with $300 in cash and $400 worth of merchandise.

He fled on foot shortly after.

Surveillance footage from the store was not released to the media.

At last check Wednesday morning, Basque remained in police custody.
