HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Light trade winds will continue through Monday as weak surface troughs linger across and north of the islands. An increase in shower activity and humidity is expected over portions of the state through Monday. Trade winds will gradually build Tuesday and Wednesday as high pressure builds northwest of the state while the surface troughs dissipate. The stable trade wind flow will focus rainfall over windward slopes, while leeward areas will be mostly dry.
A High Surf Advisory (HSA) is in effect for south facing shores of all the islands through Monday evening. The current large south swell will peak tonight. then gradually decrease through the week. A small southwest swell from the Tasman Sea may arrive next weekend.
