Wahine fall to UC Davis on Senior Night, Coolen thanks senior class for memorable season

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Wahine softball stadium ended their regular season with a 5-1 loss to UC Davis on Senior Night this evening at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

Hawaii (33-16, 14-7 BWC) went down early, trailing 1-0 in the first before Maddie Rojas hit a grand slam in the third inning to go up 5-0.

Brittany Hitchcock got the start on Senior Night and while she took the loss, she pitched a complete game allowing five runs on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts. She fell to 20-8 on the season.

The lone highlight during the game came from Brittnee Rossi, who launched a solo-shot to left field to break up UC Davisโ€™ no-hitter.

In the loss, head coach Bob Coolen started all seven seniors on the field for their final collegiate game with Hitchcock pitching,, Heather Cameron catching, Alyssa Sojka at first, Jenna Kumabe at second base, Nicole Lopez at shortstop, Carly Pina at third and Jennifer Iseri in leftfield.
