Hawaii football ‘ohana reacts to Dick Tomey’s death

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Warrior football ‘ohana lost one of its most storied members Friday night as former head coach Dick Tomey past away after battling lung cancer over the past few months.

Tomey, who coached the Warriors from 1977-1086 as head coach and then later as Hawaii’s special teams coordinator in 2011, left a lasting legacy in Hawaii for both his personality off the field and on the sidelines, often referred to as the man responsible for revitalizing Hawaii football.
