HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Light trade winds return today and continue through the weekend. The trades will focus clouds and showers over windward areas during nights and mornings, but sea breezes will bring afternoon clouds and few showers to leeward areas that will linger into the evening hours. The island atmosphere will remain stable, keeping rainfall coverage and intensity limited.
A small northwest swell will peak today, then lower gradually Friday through Sunday. A small north northwest swell is expected to arrive Monday night into Tuesday. Small, background southerly swells are expected today. A slightly larger south swell is expected to fill in tonight and Friday, with a larger and longer period south swell expected over the weekend and into early next week.
