HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The top high school basketball player has committed to play at the University of Hawai’i following back-to-back player of the year seasons for Saint Francis.

The sharp shooting guard averaged over 20 points a game last season to go along with four rebounds, three assists and two steals per game this past season.

Ng will be classified as a “preferred walk-on” when enters Manoa to compete in the Warriors front court next season. He is also coming off seasons where he was named the Gatorade State Player of the Year for a second consecutive season, the first repeat winner of the award since Kamehameha’s Micah Christenson in 2010 and ’11.

Kalaheo’s Alika Smith won the honor in 1993 and ’94 and ‘Iolani’s Derrick Low is the only three-time winner of the honor (2002-04).

Ng also led Saint Francis to back-to-back Division II state championships.
