CSUN ends Hawaii’s win streak in dominant fashion

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Rainbow Warrior baseball team’s four-game win streak came to an end Saturday afternoon, falling to CSUN 10-2 at Matador Field.

With the loss, Hawaii falls to 7-7 in the Big West and 18-21 overall.

CSUN jumped on the ‘Bows early, going up 8-0 before Tyler Murray got Hawaii on the board in the seventh with an RBI-single that scored Dallas Duarte.

Two more runs for CSUN in the bottom of the seventh made it 10-1 in favor of the home side. but Daylen Calicdan wouldn’t let the Warriors go down without a fight as he knocked his first career home run to reduce the deficit to 10-2.

On the mound, Logan Pouelsen took the loss after he went 3.2 innings, yielding five earned runs on six hits before Colin Ashworth took over to go 2.1 innings with two runs on three hits.

CSUN starting pitcher Isaiah Nunez surrendered nine hits but just one run in 7.1 innings of work for the win.

Game 3 between the two teams is set for Sunday at 10:00 a.m. HT.
