HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii’s own Ilima-Lei Macfarlane is set to defend her Bellator women’s flyweight title Saturday night in San Jose against Veta Arteaga at Bellator 220.
Macfarlane, 29, is looking to defend her belt for the third time in her career and the first time since her unforgettable finish over Valerie Letourneau at Bellator 213 in Honolulu last December.
The former Punahou graduate faces a stiff test against Arteaga who is currently on a two-fight win streak of her own. Both fighters made the 125-pound weight limit Friday morning and faced off against each other for the last time before they meet inside the Bellator cage.
Macfarlane vs. Arteaga is the co-main event of Bellator 220 which is headlined by the Bellator welterweight title fight between Rory MacDonald vs. Jon Fitch.
The main card is set to begin at 4 p.m. HT Saturday night and will be streamed live on DAZN.
