More stable trade wind conditions moving in for Easter

Moderate to breezy trade winds will dominate the weather for the next several days, along with typical showers for windward and mauka areas during the night and morning hours. A dry and stable airmass will limit showers to windward slopes, although there may be random pockets of low-level moisture riding in on the trades from time to time. No organized rainmakers are expected.

A small northwest swell is expected to peak Friday before diminishing Saturday with waves staying below advisory heights. Looking further ahead, there’s a west swell that we’re tracking to arrive Monday, with a small south swell also expected through mid week. East shore surf will rise a bit due to the strengthening trade winds. For mariners, a small craft advisory is posted for the usual windier waters around Maui County and the Big Island through the weekend.
