HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Fire Department rescued four hikers who were stranded on the Kaau Crater trail on Friday morning.
HFD said rescuers were dispatched to search for the hikers around 10:50 p.m. Thursday, but they suspended their search just after midnight due to cloud cover.
They resumed their search just before 6 a.m. Friday. They were located and brought back to a landing zone in Palolo Valley less than two hours later.
The three females and one male reported they were hiking for 12 hours before getting lost, HFD said.
