HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Authorities are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted kidnapping and assault in Kapolei.

According to a CrimeStoppers release, it happened April 8 at around 3:35 p.m.

Officials said the victim was walking on Kuou Street when a girl approached her and asked for help because a male was following her.

The victim intervened by pushing the male and telling the girl to leave, officials said. That’s when the male pushed the victim onto the ground, cut her with a “dangerous instrument” and fled.

The suspect is described as a Polynesian male, approximately 5’7” and 150 pounds. He has brown, shoulder length hair and was wearing a black shirt, gray shorts and slippers.

The search comes as investigators are also trying to track down another suspect accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Kapolei on Monday, April 15. That suspect has not been located yet.

Anyone who might have further information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (808) 955-8300.
