HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A pedestrian was killed while running across Moanalua Freeway Thursday night, Honolulu police said.
Police said a 65-year-old man driving a SUV crashed into the woman just before 8:30 p.m. near the Puuloa Road overpass.
The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.
Her identity has not been released, but officials believe she was in her 20s or 30s.
The driver was not injured. Police said he was not drunk or speeding.
All westbound lanes of the freeway were shut down during the investigation but were reopened just after 10 p.m.
This is Oahu’s 14th traffic-related death of the year.
