TSA recruits new officers on Big Island, Kauai

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - TSA is in search of new security officers for two Hawaii airports.
In effort to recruit, they are holding two events on the Big Island and Kauai.
The Big Island event will be held March 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay in Kailua-Kona.
Starting pay for security agents at the Kona International Airport is $21.67 per hour, with an opportunity for pay increases after six months.
The Kauai event is on March 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kauai Marriott Resort in Lihue.
Starting pay for officers at the Lihue Airport is $21.82 per hour, also with an opportunity for pay increases after six months.
Those interested are invited to the events, where they can begin the application and hiring process.
Applicants are required to have two valid forms of state or federal identification. Examples include: a drivers license, military ID card, passport or a copy of a birth certificate.
After that, they will be briefed on benefits and may be asked to take a computer-based aptitude test, participate in a structured interview and leave with a medical kit for drug screening and a medical exam.
Those who can’t make the event can also apply online.
