LOS ANGELES (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Lihue-bound Hawaiian Airlines flight was canceled Friday after the plane hit a tow truck on the tarmac at Los Angeles International Airport, the company said.

Hawaiian Airlines spokesman Alex Da Silva said flight HA 63 was supposed to depart from LAX at 8 a.m. Pacific time. However, prior to passengers boarding, the plane rolled into a truck that was towing the aircraft to the gate.

Da Silva said the bar that connects the tow truck apparently broke.

No passengers were on board at the time, Da Silva said.

The flight was canceled as a result of the incident. All passengers scheduled for flight HA 63 were rebooked to other flights.

No other Hawaiian flights were impacted.
