HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - In what was the best game of the quarterfinals match-ups the Iolani Raiders proved once again why they are always a tough out in the state tournament.
The OIA champion Moanalua Menehune came into the game with home court advantage and led by five points with under four minutes remaining.
The Raiders hit timely shots down the stretch to force overtime where they scored 11 points in the extra period, while Moanalua mustered just six.
Iolani was led by Sam Wheeler who poured in 21 points and five rebounds while Kawika Lee torched the Menehune for 17.
Moanalua sophomore Geremy Robinson led the Menehune with 11 points and four assists.
The Raiders will now face Punnahou in the semifinal of the boys baskeball tournament Feb. 22 at the Stan Sheriff Center.
