California visitor dies while swimming at Maui’s Napili Bay

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A California man died Friday after getting stuck in the rough ocean conditions off northwest Maui.
The fire department says he and a woman had trouble swimming in Napili Bay just before noon.
The pair was brought to shore where bystanders performed CPR on the beach and emergency responders took over. Efforts to revive the 66-year-old man were unsuccessful.
His identity has not yet been released.
The woman didn’t require further medical attention.
