HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii Prep Academy dominated Kamehameha Hawaii en-route to their sixth consecutive Div II girls soccer state championship.
The dynasty looks to be stronger then ever as HPA led the state final matchup from start to finish. It was the second consecutive season HPA and the Warriors met to decide the title and for the second straight time it would be the team in red and white heading home with the trophy.
HPA Sophomore Malia Brost accounted for a hat trick in just the first half much to the delight of head coach Steve Perry, who remained calm on the sideline throughout most of the evening.
Angela Cipriano would add another goal for HPA in the 34th minute off a cross.
“It’s to bad the season has to end,” Perry said. “I think we are playing our best soccer right now, they are a wonderful group of girls who have come along way since December.”
HPA’s passing and tight defense kept the Warriors off their game all night long, head coach Steve Perry said his team prepared with one mindset heading into tonight’s game.
“We wanted to play like a shark,” said Perry. “We controlled the middle of the field and we created good pieces.”
After dominating yet another opponent enroute to their sixth consecutive state crown HPA has made it clear this dynasty is stronger then ever.socc
