Wanted Wednesday: Suspect accused of stealing from an upscale Waikiki store

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kiara Demyra, aka Rocky Gouveia, is wanted by Honolulu police and CrimeStoppers on a $20,000 bench warrant for failing to comply with terms and conditions of drug court.

CrimeStoppers said the 28-year-old is tied to a theft at a high-end Waikiki department store.

On the afternoon of Jan. 8, 2018, a loss prevention officer reportedly witnessed the suspect enter the store and proceed to look at clothes. The suspect then selected a shirt off the rack, put it in a bag and attempted to exit the store without paying, CrimeStoppers said.

The suspect was stopped by the loss prevention officer and escorted to the store’s security office where the individual was identified as Demyra, and arrested by police for second-degree theft.

Demyra has eight prior convictions as is known to frequent the Honolulu area.

Police describe Demyra as 5-feet-5-inches tall, 138 pounds with brown eyes and hair.
