HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Support for federal workers continues to stream in.
As many begin to look for alternative forms of work, companies are opening their doors and offering up position.
The latest company to offer jobs to impacted workers is American Savings Bank.
On Wednesday the bank announced that there were temporary positions available for federal workers.
“We empathize with the workers and families affected by the prolonged government shutdown,” said Beth Whitehead, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. “In an effort to help furloughed federal employees, we have made temporary positions available, all of which will include weekly pay.”
They added that federal workers who have resigned are encouraged to apply for permanent positions.

“Affected workers can also participate in on-site interviews at the American Savings Bank booth at the WorkForce Career Fair on Wednesday Jan. 30, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. Interviews could result in same-day hire,” the company added.
A federal identification card will be required for qualification.
