HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Three popular restaurants on Oahu owned by the same Japan-based company have suddenly shut down.
The abrupt closures of the three restaurants — Cafe Lani and Tempura Ichidai at Ala Moana Center and Gokoku Sushi in Hawaii Kai — left patrons in dismay.
Restaurant goers who went to Gokoku Sushi were greeted Tuesday night with a sign on the door.
The sign read in part:
“We apologize for the abrupt closure of Gokoku Sushi. If you purchased a gift card and would like a refund, please send an email by no later than February 28, 2019 to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line ‘Gift Card Refund.’”
Similar signs were posted at Cafe Lani and Tempura Ichidai.
The restaurants are all owned by the Japanese Company Pier Thirty.
The reason for the sudden closures is unknown at this time. Hawaii News Now has reached out for more information.
