CENTRAL OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man died after being hit while walking on the H-2 Freeway Sunday morning, Honolulu police said.

It happened on the H-2 Freeway North prior to the Ka Uka off ramp around 4:40 a.m.

Police said the man was walking in the roadway when he was hit by a 58-year-old man behind the wheel.

The unidentified pedestrian was taken to Queen’s Medical Center where he later died.

Police said that speed, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
