HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii Foodbank will distribute emergency food bags to federal workers in the islands affected by the ongoing government shutdown.

Food donations will be distributed from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the U.S. Coast Guard Exchange.

Base access is required to access the facility.

A second food distribution is set for Tuesday at the Seafarers Union Hall on Kalihi Street. The distribution is set to start at 1 p.m.

The food bank said it is seeing increased need in the islands as the government shutdown enters its fifth week.
