HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A fire displaced a Waimanalo family of seven Saturday night, according to the Honolulu Fire Department.
HFD says the fire started around 7:30 p.m. Six units staffed with 22 personnel responded to the home on Poalima Street.
Fire officials say a man, a woman and their five children were not home at the time the flames began.
Crews began fighting the fire and had it under control by 8 p.m. and fully extinguished by 8:45 p.m.
No injuries were reported. Friends have started a GoFundMe page to assist the family. The Red Cross is also assisting the displaced family.
HFD added that home’s smoke alarms were working.
