HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Maui resident Eric Dugas went 1-under today and finished T-72nd at the Sony Open after Saturday’s third round.
While Dugas hit 12 of 18 greens in regulation, he has missed the cut for Sunday’s final round.
“We know what we have to do, you can’t go out and make one birdie or two birdies in a round of golf on Saturday on the Tour and expect to play more golf,” Dugas said. “Your fate’s in your own hand. You have to go under par, or your day’s done Saturday.”
Despite not reaching Sunday’s final round, Dugas put things in perspective. A Saturday finish in front of friends, family and supporters isn’t too bad of a consolation prize at the end of the day.
“Hard to be dissapointed, obviously my expectations were to play better today,” he said. “Happy all in all with the week. Family around, friends around, go have a nice dinner and relax.”
